So, we have already talked about the strain fashion and over production have on our environment.
The fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world just after the oil industry. And the environmental damage is increasing as the industry grows.However, there are solutions and alternatives to mitigate these problems. The first step lies in building awareness and willingness to change.
But this is only one of our two high set goals: consuming Ethical Fashion!
'Ethical' fashion refers to garments that have been produced in an environment that is conscious and engaged in the many social issues the fashion industry affects.
Ethical fashion is garment design, production, and distribution that focuses on reducing harm to people and the planet.
Come check out our new collaboration with the brand Meshiko and our production of jewellery in the Mexican local communities of the
HUICHOLES INDIGENOUS community. The hand beaded pieces tell a story of tradition and heritage. We as designers must compliment the existing heritage and take part in building a more global community around these practices.
